Availability of Peer Recovery Services and Medication-Assisted Treatment in High Risk Settings  Across Virginia

As part of the State Opioid Response grant, Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is working to increase access to peer recovery services and medication-assisted treatment for individuals with an opioid use disorder and/or a stimulant use disorder. Emergency departments and jails are two key locations where these services are needed, but there is still work to be done to make access equitable across Virginia, as demonstrated by these maps of service availability.
