We appreciate you taking a few minutes to share some information with OMNI and DBHDS on Contingency Management (CM) interventions and how your CSB uses or may use CM. This will help us get a better picture across all CSBs about the practices for using these interventions. Click here to take the survey. The deadline to complete the survey is by COB Wednesday, February 17th.
Meet the OMNI SOR Treatment & Recovery Teams!
Our team has decided that it's high time you learned more about us! To do that, we've set up a new section of our website to help you do just that: About us. We hope you enjoy learning a bit more about each member of OMNI's Virginia SOR Treatment and Recovery Teams, and you can check out all our photos as well. Much nicer than seeing us only on Zoom, right?
In this photo, we feature the Treatment Team folks you most often connect with at OMNI when seeking TA (starting in the top left corner): Julia Simhai, Cheryl Winston, Julia Ricotta, Kate Rifken, Charlotte Gray, Nikki Dee, and Audrey Dervarics. Our Team meets each week to talk about ways to improve our TA for you, and to develop protocols and trainings to enhance your experience working with the GPRA.
All of us truly enjoy the connections we continue to make across CSBs and DBHDS. We look forward to working with you throughout 2021, and send best wishes for a happy and healthy year ahead!

Peer Services & MAT Maps Updated
The SOR team has updated both the Emergency Department with Peer Services Map and the Jails with Peer Services and/or MAT Map. We have made minor changes to the maps data based on previous feedback, and the updated maps can be found on the SOR Support website (https://www.virginiasorsupport.org/recovery-maps). Please let us know if you see any other information that needs to be updated.
These maps were created as part of the SOR grant to visualize gaps in services and provide a current snapshot of services available across the state. The peer services and MAT data are from the 2019 Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services report on availability of opioid use disorder treatment in jails and peer services in emergency departments . We hope to keep updating these maps as access to recovery services continues to increase across the state.
GPRA Refresher Training Recording & Slides
OMNI held a GPRA Refresher Training yesterday (1/27/2021) to provide a high-level overview of the GPRA and the SOR II grant to those already familiar with the GPRA. Thank you to those who joined us for the training!
We posted the training recording and slides on the Trainings resource page of our website. Please review these resources if you were unable to join the training and would like a refresher of the GPRA. In addition, below is a list of useful materials to accompany this training for your reference:
TA Support Resources (all materials below are listed here):
Question by Question Guide: Provides guidance for every GPRA survey question, including additional probes, definitions, cross-checks, and skip pattern information.
GPRA and SOR Orientation Guide: Guide to introduce and orient new staff members to the GPRA and the SOR grant.
GPRA Follow-Up and Discharge Information Sheet: Overview of the follow-up and discharge GPRA surveys and administration processes.
SOR II Rollover Process Guide: Guide to the "SOR II Rollover" process, in which clients from SOR I who are continuing to receive services in SOR II are enrolled in the SOR II GPRA.
Dropbox Resource Guide: Provides an overview of your CSB's Dropbox folder, as well as supports for accessing and setting up your CSB's Dropbox folder.
Please reach out to SORSupport@omni.org if you have any questions!
GPRA Refresher Training Reminder!
This is a reminder that we are hosting an abbreviated GPRA Refresher Training on Wednesday, Jan 27, 2021 at 11am ET. Please register here. This is a shortened 1.5 hour training.
Come to this training if you are already familiar with the GPRA, but want a refresher on GPRA administration, the process of tracking clients for follow-up, and a re-cap of new elements for the SOR II grant period. If you have questions about whether this is a good fit for you, reach out to us at SORSupport@omni.org.
SOR Funds for Supportive Housing Clarification
SAMHSA has shared their final decision concerning the use of SOR funds to pay for supportive housing. Unfortunately the only housing that can be paid for with SOR grant funds is Recovery Housing. SOR cannot be used to pay for rent, utilities, etc.
Please reach out to Mike Zohab or Angela Weight at DBHDS if you have questions.

SOR Year 2 Annual Report
We are excited to share that the SOR Year 2 Annual Report is now available on the SOR website. This report covers evaluations from the second year of SOR funding for prevention, treatment, and recovery, and examines multiple data sources, including GPRAs and quarterly surveys. You can find the full report here or on the SOR Website: https://www.virginiasorsupport.org/reports. A short executive summary is available here.
We are also working on CSB-level reports which will show CSB's GPRA data for the entire SOR I grant. CSBs with at least 15 intake GPRA surveys will receive a CSB-level report. We will be sending emails to CSBs that will receive a report with more information before the end of the month.
We thank everyone for your data collection efforts, collaboration, and most of all the incredible amount of work accomplished by CSBs and their communities under this grant!
If you have any questions about either report, feel free to reach out to us at SORSupport@omni.org.
SOR II Quarter 1 Treatment Services & Recovery Services Survey
It's time to complete the SOR II Quarter 1 Treatment and Recovery Services Survey! We emailed CSB staff this past Wednesday the Quarter 1 Treatment and Recovery Services Survey link. If you did not receive this email and believe you should have, please contact SORSupport@omni.org.
All relevant quarterly survey information can be found on our quarterly survey resources page. This page has a PDF file of the Quarter 1 Survey questions and the quarterly survey instruction sheet.
We ask that CSBs complete the survey no later than Friday, January 22nd. Survey responses should reflect all of quarter 1 (October 1 - December 31, 2020). Please reach out to SORSupport@omni.org with any questions or needed support!
